Participation in the 15th Havana Biennial, presenting “Nature Finds a Way,” a large-scale mural exploring the relationship between nature, urban environments, and the interconnectedness of life. The exhibition also featured “Hemoglobin,” an iron sculpture, bringing together painting and sculpture within the context of Havana’s urban landscape.

Hemoglobin

“Hemoglobin” (2024) is an iron sculpture produced in an edition of eight. For the 15th Havana Biennial, three pieces from the edition were presented together as an installation along Havana’s Malecón, as part of “Detrás del Muro.” Each sculpture measures 39.3 × 39.3 × 39.3 inches (100 × 100 × 100 cm). Inspired by hemoglobin’s role in transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide through the body, the installation explores cycles of exchange, continuity, and the interconnected nature of life.

Nature Finds a Way

“Nature Finds a Way” (2024) is a site-specific, hand-painted mural created at Malecón and Galiano in Havana, Cuba, as part of “Detrás del Muro” at the 15th Havana Biennial. Through interconnected dots and lines in green, yellow, and black, the mural transforms a deteriorated wall into a vibrant expression of nature’s resilience, renewal, and ability to flourish despite adversity.
